The Mentor Self-Cath HydroGel Catheter is a hybrid catheter system that is easy and convenient to use. The proprietary micro-bead lubricant coating reduces urethral friction while the introducer tip is designed to reduce the risk of urinary tract infections (UTI's). The ingenious built-in extension sleeve reduces the need for transfers and provides a means for contact free catheter usage.

For a 1st year quad learning to get around in public again, this product was THE #1 thing that allowed me to do so with confidence and dignity. Try it a couple of times (1st time might be awkward) and you will l o v e it. It works like this: Wheel up near to a toilet, push the pre-lubed catheter from its sheath, put the suction cup at the discharge end on the rim of the toilet (or not), insert catheter and urine drains through the sheath directly into the bowl. Long enough to use while seated in a car with the door open in an emergency! I have limited hand dexterity and it is easy to use.
